Benjamin Duboc (France) is a double-bass player, improviser, and electroacoustic music composer. He bases his works on the notions of present/presence, air/surroundings, borders, fluidity, and dilution. His playing has been known for its remarkable expressiveness and telluric quality. He sees form in improvisation as the interplay of connections and relationships. Form is a perpetual birth, hence his efforts to be in the most acute state of presence while playing – a process he calls ‘act/ualisation’.
