Opening Arti et Amicitiae

Another night, another opening – we keep going, and we hope you will be with us. Melted for Love’s three core exhibitions open across Amsterdam, evening by evening, and tonight Arti et Amicitiae welcomes you in. With free entrance and a bar, this is the second chapter to explore – new work to see, and another chance to experience this programme as it builds.

In this historic space, the Biennial theme, Melted for Love, manifests through textile lineages, collective attunement, nautical mythologies, trembling river systems, and the regenerative intelligence of mangrove forests.

On this night, HUNITI GOLDOX debuts a world premiere work, looking at mangrove ecologies as adaptive, regenerative intelligence. Also at the exhibition are art works by renowned artists such as Dominique White, who summons nautical myths of the Black diaspora and shipwrecked voices, and Nour Shantout, who threads tatreez as a living Palestinian inheritance of land and resistance. Noor Abed’s film installation activates collective rhythmic attunement in the wake of ongoing displacement, Ameneh Solati listens to the Euphrates, asking how water might grieve, and Arjuna Neuman follows wildfire sparks to trace labour, migration, and quiet solidarity.

This exhibition at Arti et Amicitiae forms one chapter of Melted for Love’s three-part exhibition programme across Amsterdam. All three exhibition locations, W139, Arti et Amicitiae, and Rozenstraat, will be open during the entire Biennial from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00–20:00. The exception is Monday, 2 March, when the exhibition will be open from 12:00 to 17:00.

The exhibition opening is a free event. After the opening, visitors can purchase a single ticket for each venue or choose a combined ticket that grants access to all locations – W139, Arti et Amicitiae, and Rozenstraat. The tickets are not dated, and visitors can use them during the general visiting hours, excluding the performance events.
