Cocky Eek (Netherlands) is interested in lightweight spatial compositions, floating or flying experiments, and large, voluminous forms that explore human perception, where we don’t move through space, but space moves through us. Her work considers synesthetic spatial compositions in relation to the human body. She has been a member of FoAM, an international cultural laboratory in Brussels, since 2001 and a core teacher at the ArtScience Interfaculty and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague since 2009. She co-founded FoAM-lab, Amsterdam, and received Honorary Mention at the 2011 Prix Ars Electronica for the urban foraging project Boskoi. In 2012, she created Sphaerae, an inflatable multi-dome pavilion for immersive and synesthetic experiences.
