Hannah Hajar

Composer

Hannah Hajar is the collaborative project of Mathilde Proy and Jeanne Merone, established in 2024. Through this shared entity, they create a mystical and expansive sound world that weaves together deep dub, drone, bass, and musique concrète. Their compositions combine FM synthesis with vocals, accordion, and acoustic sounds processed and spatialised in real time, producing an atmosphere that moves between plaintive structures, fractured rhythms, and phantasmagoric textures.

Proy and Merone studied instrumental performance, electroacoustic composition, and electronic production at the conservatories of Pantin and Paris. Their work brings together the compositional sensibility of musique concrète with the materiality and immediacy of contemporary electronic production.
