Maeve Brennan
Maeve Brennan is an artist and filmmaker based in London. Her practice explores the social, historical, and political resonance of materials and places. Working across moving image, installation, sculpture, and print, she examines the layered histories embedded in objects and sites, revealing the unseen structures that shape contemporary life.
Her work has been presented internationally at institutions including Tai Kwun Contemporary, Barbican Centre, Tate Britain, Somerset House, The High Line, and Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, amongst others. She was shortlisted for the Jarman Award in 2024 and has received the Sainsbury Scholarship at the British School at Rome, the Stanley Picker Fine Art Fellowship, the Paul Hamlyn Award for Artists, and the Jerwood/FVU Award. Brennan is currently in residence at Somerset House Studios, and her films are distributed by LUX.
