Marcin Pietruszewski

Composer and Researcher

Marcin Pietruszewski is a Polish composer and researcher working with computer-based synthesis and composition. His practice explores formal developments within the traditions of twentieth and twenty-first century music and contemporary art. He works across composition, pluriphonic installations, and radio productions, with recurring themes including synthetic sound, algorithmic systems, and the integration of scientific formalisms as compositional materials.

Pietruszewski has exhibited at West Court Gallery, Remote Viewing, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, and has received commissions from Sonic Acts / Biennale di Musica in Venice, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, CTM Festival, ZKM, and Deutschlandradio Kultur. He has collaborated with Anthea Caddy on the installations Love Numbers (2023) and with Jan St. Werner/Mouse on Mars on Auditory Scene Resynthesis as Cochlear Wavepackets (2021). His latest release, Normification (2025) with Florian Hecker, was published by Diagonal Records.

Marcin Pietruszewski was a resident at Sonic Acts’ Spatial Sound Residency in 2025.
